There is a common misconception that many entrepreneurs and successful business owners were somehow born into it, or that they were given the right kind of opportunities and conditions to succeed. This may be true in some cases but there are a great many examples of where this just isn’t how things have happened. One example which I want to talk about today is the amazing Tatiana Kukanova, social media superstar and online businesswoman who certainly proves that hard work gets you everywhere. Tatiana Kukanova is not just a success, she is also a dear friend of mine and I have been privileged to watch her journey to the top.
Money
Whilst it isn’t always true, having money is of course the best way in which you can start a business and Tatiana knew this from early on. Tatiana Kukanova wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth, nor was she left a hefty inheritance from a long-lost Uncle. Tatiana began working as soon as she could and she already had an eye on saving up as much as she could in order to launch her business. Working in the grocery store whilst studying at high school wasn’t easy but she managed it and was able to save a good amount of cash.
Homework
All the while that she was working and studying, Tatiana was very much planning her business and she would review how successful companies like the one which she wanted to create were modeled and how they functioned. How she was able to find the time for this I do not know but every time that I was at her house or out with her, she would instantly talk about business strategies and ideas, this hard work would stand her in very good stead for the future.
Risk
There is always an element of risk involved in launching a business and for Tatiana there were a number of risks which she took when launching her company. The first risk was not attending college, it was her belief that she’d learn more in the real world and didn’t want to be saddled with all of that debt. Furthermore Tatiana launched her company using the money which she had saved as well as maxing out her credit cards in order to launch it how she wanted. Given that at this point she wasn’t making any money and could no longer work, this was quite a risk, both financially and personally.
Round the Clock
Tatiana had done everything in order to prepare herself for launching the business and she knew that it was now that all of the hard work was going to begin. For at least 6 months Tatiana was working insane hours, constantly tweaking and operating her business, hardly sleeping, hardly eating but hungry for success. After the 6 month mark she did begin to slow down a bit but was still working more than the rest of us did.
It was though her vision, her hard work and her dedication to success that Tatiana was able to achieve what she has already with her business and having not been born with the opportunities that some do, she was able to work her butt off and turn lemons into lemonade, just like we all could if we put our minds to it.
