Why Onsite Tech Support Is Essential For A Company

August 24, 2019

Almost every company uses computers, personalized servers, and a variety of hardware and software applications that make everyday work easier. But, what if one of the systems encounters an issue and stops working? If you don’t have knowledge or expertise in IT, you may find yourself in an ocean of problems, especially if you lose some of the crucial documents of your company. But, thanks to tech support, IT experts can solve these issues quickly.

Why onsite tech support is essential for a company | lets be game changers lets be game changers

Types of tech support

There are two types of tech support that IT professionals offer:

  • Onsite tech support
  • Offsite tech support

While both these IT support services are highly beneficial for any organization, onsite tech support edges ahead of offsite tech support. Onsite tech support involves an expert coming down to your office and fixing the hardware or software-related problem your gadgets are facing. This type of tech support is favorable when there is no way to implement offsite support. Although onsite tech support takes slightly longer and is usually costlier than its competitor, it offers personalized service that many people prefer.

Why choose onsite tech support?

Many people think that remote IT support or offsite tech support is better than onsite support. However, it has limited options when it comes to different businesses. For example, it is not possible to remotely fix the date and time battery of a CPU. Offsite tech support may save time, but when the case is a complicated one, there is nothing better than onsite tech support. When there is someone taking care of your company’s IT issues, you have an assurance that he/she will fix the problems quickly.

Onsite tech support is useful for technical novices that rely on specialized equipment or complex computer systems. So, if you have a similar setup and have no idea how to fix the servers or any of the types of equipment, you should call an onsite tech expert.

• You can’t fix all tech problems remotely

Hardware-related issues always require an expert to come over and check the problem physically. For example, if your computer or laptop is not booting, there is no way an IT expert can figure out what’s causing the problem. There can be hundreds of different reasons causing this problem. So, instead of guesswork, the IT expert will come to review the entire setup. This will help him/her understand the specific issue with the hardware.

It can take hours for a technician to come over, diagnose the problem, and then fix it. Instead, if there is in-house or onsite tech support, the technician will solve the issue instantly. Onsite tech support provides more accurate diagnose because the expert can test a few things to understand what is causing the problem. Offsite tech support often becomes a trial and error method that takes up a significant amount of time.

• Onsite tech support can save your day

A dedicated onsite technician is a real savior. Calling the offline tech support team over and over is often disturbing. Instead, when you have onsite tech support handy, you can ask any question about hardware and software-related issues. Whether it is fixing small issues or something as significant as repairing the company’s server, it is always wise to have an onsite techie around for emergencies.

• Easier communication

This is one of the reasons why most people prefer onsite tech support. If you are not a tech-savvy person, you may not convey the issue to an offline tech support team correctly. This will create communication gaps, and even an experienced team may not be able to provide appropriate help. On the other hand, if there is onsite tech support, you wouldn’t have to explain anything to the technician. He/she will diagnose the problem and find the cause of the fault.

If you are only concerned about the result, then you should consider onsite tech support. You don’t have to explain the issue to someone over the phone. It will ultimately take a longer time to fix the problem.

• You feel safe when a technician is around

This is a purely a personal choice. Most people want to see how a technician is fixing the hardware or software technology problem of their computer. It doesn’t matter whether you learn anything or not; just the sense of watching someone do the job makes you feel satisfied. When you see the technician making progress, you know that it will only take a few more minutes to fix the problem. But, if you opt for offsite tech support, you may have to wait for a few minutes or a few hours because you don’t know how they are fixing the issue.

So, if the computers, laptops, or other electronic gadgets in your office don’t work as expected, don’t hesitate to call onsite tech support. A technician will come to your rescue as soon as possible.
