How Safe Is The CoolSculpting Procedure?

February 4, 2020

CoolSculpting is one of the fastest-growing treatments to eliminate stubborn fat. Cool sculpting is often recommended for areas of the body that require specialized help to reduce fat cells. By implementing fat-freezing technology, one can expect long-term and safe results.

What Are “Problem Areas”?

Losing weight can be a long and challenging process. Even when weight is successfully lost, we cannot choose where we see a difference. Certain areas of the body can be more complicated than others to minimize fat cells. Some of these problem areas include under the chin where jowls start to form or under the arms.

The Most Popular Areas For CoolSculpting Include:

-inner thighs

-anterior or posterior flanks (sometimes referred to as “love handles”)

-hips

-upper back

-knees

How Safe Is CoolSculpting?

Many people are initially attracted to this line of treatment because the CoolSculpting cost is low. When prices are reasonable, people often doubt the effectiveness or safety of a treatment. But such is not the case with CoolSculpting. Since the procedure is invasive, it is both safer and cost-effective.

Freezing fat cells through the use of CoolSculpting is approved by the Federal Drug Administration in many areas. Under the chin, the jawline area, upper arms, and the back are safe and comfortable areas for this line of treatment. In a 2015 study, researchers found no significant health risks associated with CoolSculpting treatment. Liver function and lipid levels were found to be healthy. Although it is not designed for weight loss, it is an excellent way to lose fat for long-term results.

CoolSculpting does not involve any surgery. Because there is no incision, anesthetic is also not required. Both medication and surgery pose significant health risks for those undergoing operations. Side effects for this treatment are generally mild and may include skin sensitivity, minor bruising, and possible swelling. A non-invasive treatment, however, causes fewer side effects. Complications such as skin pigment changes, scarring, or bleeding are not associated with CoolSculpting treatment. Since the cooling device used targets specific fat cells, other cells are not damaged.

What Does Treatment Look Like?

CoolSculpting uses freezing temperatures to break down difficult fat cells systematically. This is a long-term solution for removing stubborn fat. Because of its high success rate, it is a popular solution for the removal of stubborn fat.

A trained medical professional uses a device to freeze fat cells under the skin effectively. By placing the device over the specific problem area, only the fat cells that need to be removed are eliminated. The CoolSculpting treatment generally takes about an hour to administer.

What Is The Healing Process Like?

Since CoolSculpting is not an invasive procedure, there is no downtime required after the treatment. A typical visit takes approximately one hour and is not performed in a hospital. After treatment is completed, the area may feel tense or cold for a short period.

The results will begin to show at around 4-6 months post-treatment. During this time, fat cells will naturally leave the body. The fat of the treated area might decrease by twenty percent.

Conclusion

Depending on the area, CoolSculpting costs vary. Smaller areas of the body are frequently much less expensive than more significant areas. Regardless of where the treatment is applied, paying for surgery is unnecessary. CoolSculpting is a safe and effective way of eliminating fat in the regions that have difficulty losing weight. The stomach, arms, hips, and chin are some of the most common problem areas that CoolSculpting works well for. In as little as an hour, this treatment provides targeted fat elimination that does not require potentially addictive medication, a hospital stay, or any risky surgery.
