Stop Worrying About Household Waste and Start Using 240 Litre Compostable Wheelie Bin Liners Today

November 10, 2021

Colored bins lining up on the road with 240 litre compostable wheelie bin linersThere is an ongoing problem with waste not just in Australia but also in other parts of the world. Taking serious action now on better waste management is a must.

It’s a good thing that the Australian government has committed to implementing a national waste policy and encourages everyone to collaborate and work together. But household waste is not something that many people are comfortable dealing with. One of the best ways to address this problem is for homes and establishments to have 240 L wheelie bins complete with 240 litre compostable wheelie bin liners. Efforts should be doubled in reducing, reusing and recycling wastes.

How Wheelie Bins Help Manage Household Waste in Australia

Household waste has been a problem in many Australian homes. While wheelie bins are essential to ensure that your trash is well-managed, knowing how to properly use them is a different story. There are specific bins for different kinds of waste and you can usually differentiate them by their colour. This is important because the rubbish removal needs to follow effective waste management when disposing of your waste.

Below are the different types of wheelie bins:

Different wheelie bins with 240 litre compostable wheelie bin liners1. Red bins – If you’re looking for a bin that you can use for standard household wastes, you can use a red bin. Make sure that you only put house generated trash in the red bin such as plastic bags, disposable bags, containers of goods and products, toothbrushes and empty toothpaste tubes, paper containers, styrofoam waste, clear glass products, used paper products and LED bulbs.

Not all household waste belongs to the red bin, though. Items like electronic waste, household chemicals, electronic appliances, green waste, bulky household items that won’t fit inside your bin and food scraps should go into the red bin. There is a designated electronic and battery disposal bin for electronic wastes.

2. Green bins – If you have organic garden waste, you can put them inside green bins. Not every household has this specific bin set and you need to request or order them from your local council if you want to put your good waste to good use. Be sure to use the appropriate 240 litre compostable wheelie bin liners designed for organic waste.

There is also a limit on the type of green waste that go inside the green bin and these are garden shrubs that fit inside the bin, small twigs, weeds, leaves and grass clippings, branch trimmings and tree pruning waste. The green bin is good for compost bins for the kitchen so your kitchen waste will be put into good use.

3. Yellow bins – Not every household waste should be thrown away in a landfill. Some wastes are good candidates for recycling such as aluminium products, sturdy paper waste, hard plastic containers, plastic liquid containers and clear or coloured glass bottles and glass jars. If you want to effectively manage your recyclable waste, get a yellow bin and start recycling. Usually, the red and yellow bins go together in every household. If you are not sure which type of waste goes into the yellow bin, ask experts or anyone from your council to give you an idea.

How Can You Contribute to Effective Waste Management?

Reusing, reducing and recycling products is a habit. The earlier you start managing household waste, the more you can contribute to effective waste management. There is a waste crisis that the country is currently facing and our landfills are dwindling. While it’s true that you cannot recycle every waste in your home, you have an option to reduce the amount of waste by using a compost bucket kitchen for organic wastes. Go and get those wheelie bins together with 240 litre compostable wheelie bin liners as a step to better waste management.
