To learn more about how to measure success, we sat down with direct marketer and entrepreneur Nimrod Santo. In this interview, Santo gives us his biggest tips on measuring success to help you achieve your 2021 goals.
What are your 2021 goals?
After this crazy year, I’ve decided to keep my 2021 goals simple. I want to continue growing my business and exploring direct marketing, make up for the lost travel of 2020, and help people learn about the world of online entrepreneurship.
Why is it important to track progress?
I think it’s important to track progress because it helps you see what you have to do to reach your goal. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in a project if you don’t know where you stand, making the end result seem farther away.
Also, if you keep up with your progress, there is less room for failure because you are likely to fix your mistakes as you keep going.
How do you measure success in your business?
I measure success in my business in a few different ways. When it comes to direct marketing, I keep up with my audience metrics. Using a metrics tool shows you exactly how people are interacting with your content, what works, and what doesn’t. I have discussed this more on my most recent interview with StreetTalkLive.
For my blog, I like to make note of what topics do better than others. If an article on lifestyle does better than one about social media, I will probably start posting more about lifestyle because that’s what people want to see.
Has keeping track of success helped you?
Tracking progress has really helped me grow my website. I can see what people want to read, the demographics of my audience, and how well certain content performs.
I can also see which ads do better. This has helped me tailor my blog content-wise and advertising wise to make sure I’m posting effective and desirable content. By tracking my success I’ve seen numbers in viewership rise.
What is your biggest tip for measuring success?
My biggest tip for measuring success is to be patient. It takes a little bit of time to find out what works and what doesn’t.
Don’t give up if you feel overwhelmed with all the numbers. Start little by little, and eventually you’ll find a method that helps you see the progress you’re making.
