Money Saving Tips On Things For Your Family And Your Home

September 9, 2019

We all love to save money, especially on things we use daily or things we need for our home. How can you make your hard-earned dollars stretch further without missing out on things you need? We have some great money-saving tips that will keep more money in your pocket!

Money saving tips on things for your family and your home | lets be game changers lets be game changers

Money-Saving Tip #1: Buying Groceries is a Great Place To Save Money

We all shop for groceries, likely every week, or biweekly, depending on our needs. This is one expense that you can easily decrease with just a little effort. Nowadays, you can easily view the deals and sales at the grocery store online before even setting foot in the door at the store. Go over the sales, match coupons that you have clipped either from the newspaper or online and see what you can get a good deal on.

Make sure to inventory what items you have in your pantry and your refrigerator before you go. Make a shopping list of items you need and stick to that. Don’t waver from your list, unless you find an amazing deal. Make sure to check the markdown areas, you can usually find fruits or vegetables that need to be eaten quickly and are marked down for a steal of a price. You may also find other dented cans or damaged boxes that are priced pennies on the dollar.

Money-Saving Tip #2: Sales For Household Items and Furniture

If you are in the market for new furniture, watch for sales both in-store and online. By keeping an eye on sales, you will also educate yourself on what regular prices are so you can tell if the sale is really a good sale. Many times you can find a mattress sale or a living room furniture sale that will save you hundreds of dollars. Other times you may not save money, but you can get other extra items such as a mattress cover or a free lamp with your purchase. Don’t be afraid to shop around, too. Check sales both in-store and online for the best deal.

Money-Saving Tip #3: Watch Your Utilities

Overspending on your utilities can really break the budget. By just shutting off lights you don’t use or sealing up drafty windows, it can really save you money throughout the year. Keep an eye out for leaking faucets or running toilets. These can be big money pits; you literally watch your money go down the drain and no one wants that! Teach your family to turn off lights and other electronics when they leave the room. Keep your thermostat a few degrees less during the winter and snuggle up under a warm blanket or put on a pair of slippers. This will save you a good chunk of money for the winter.

Money-Saving Tip #4: Transportation is Expensive

Driving to and from work can be expensive, especially if you drive a considerable distance. Look for other modes of transportation to decrease this cost. Many large cities will have public transportation such as busing or subways. Consider how much you can save by using one of those types of transportation versus driving to work.

Another way to save money on transportation is to carpool. See how many other employees live close by and try to carpool with them. This will not only decrease your immediate transportation cost if others drive their vehicles some of the time and you drive the other times, but the wear and tear on your vehicle will be less.

Money-Saving Tip #5: How You Pay For Things Matters

Finding a great deal doesn’t matter if you are paying a high-interest rate on what you purchased. Keep in mind that paying cash is always ideal. If you must use your credit cards, use the one that has the lowest interest rate. If you have cards that offer cash back on purchases, those are also good to use as long as their interest rate is still low.

As you can see, there are ways you can save money and not go without the things you want or need. With these great tips, you will be saving money in no time and be able to enjoy the things you’ve purchased.
