Understandably, people want to take advantage of these to improve their well-being.

A good source of CBD is its flowers. Although CBD flowers are commonly smoked or vaped, it is also used for making your own hemp oils and edibles. The advantage of making your own CBD extracts is that you can be sure of its purity.

What is Wellness?

People are aiming to lead a healthier lifestyle by practicing good physical and mental habits. While this is a worthy goal, it is easier said than done. Living well is not just about having a good meal in the morning and a warm bath at night.

Even if you have perfect physical health, but your mental status is not up to par, you will not live well. Furthermore, an adverse psychological condition will eventually affect your body. There must be a balance that must be reached so that overall wellness can be achieved.

That is why some turn to CBD and its extracts for support.

Since its discovery in 1940, CBD, or cannabidiol, its properties, and its effects have been studied by multiple groups. Despite legal restrictions, especially in the 1970s, there were several promising results from testing.

CBD has been shown to reduce high blood pressure. It is known that this condition can lead to severe illnesses like stroke and heart attack.

A recent study has shown that men who were given a 600 mg dose of CBD oil have a lower resting blood pressure. When they were subjected to a stress test, their blood pressure increased was also lower than expected.

For us to be able to achieve holistic wellness, we must also avoid bodily pain. Marijuana, the source plant of CBD, has been known to reduce pain, even in ancient times. Scientific research has shown that its natural chemicals, including CBD, is responsible for this effect.

The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabidiol and its impact on our body’s pain receptors will alleviate our symptoms without having any addictive effects.

While scientists haven’t determined CBD’s exact action yet, research so far points to major benefits with limited side effects.

Acne, a common problem, especially among teenagers and young adults, is caused by several factors such as skin inflammation and too much skin oil, or sebum. CBD, a known anti-inflammatory, can help reduce these symptoms.

One study has even shown that cannabidiol can stop sebaceous glands from producing too much sebum.

Unhealthy skin can be a cause of anxiety and stress. Proper treatment of this condition can actually increase your overall well-being.

Quitting Smoking

We all know that smoking does not have any positive effects on our body. The nicotine in cigarettes is highly addictive. That is why quitting can be difficult, especially if you don’t have a substitute for it.

In 2013, a study was conducted that showed CBD smokers were more likely to reduce their number of cigarettes smoked per day and stopped craving nicotine.

Furthermore, in 2018, the relaxing effects of cannabidiol reduced cigarette cravings for those who have quit.

Cannabidiol has several positive effects on our well-being. It could reduce our pain, improve our cardiovascular health, and give us healthy skin. CBD also fights against anxiety and depression, and even increases our cognitive health. Furthermore, it has been proven that CBD substitutes can lessen and stop smokers from craving nicotine and cigarettes.

It is still up to our own discipline and actions to pursue holistic wellness. However, CBD flowers and its extracts are excellent in giving us a helping hand to achieve our physical and mental wellness.
