How to Prepare For A Vacation Trip to Bali

March 12, 2020

Bali is known for being one of the most beautiful vacation destinations to visit because of its picturesque sceneries and golden beaches. Nestled in the western areas of Indonesia, it’s the perfect place to visit if you’re looking to unwind and relax.

If you have plans to visit Bali, then you’re up for a paradise experience. Naturally, before you can pack and go, you have to make sure that you prepared all the necessary documents and arrangements needed. Whether it’s booking your plane ticket or finding beautiful Bali villas to stay in, there are crucial things to remember to ensure you have a smooth travelling experience.

How to prepare for a vacation trip to bali | lets be game changersPreliminary Research

In planning any trip, the first thing you have to do is research. If it’s your first time visiting Bali, then this step becomes even more critical since you may be unfamiliar with the place. You can start by checking for the best times to visit Bali, depending on your preference.

For example, if you want to enjoy the beaches and get to surf some waves, it’s best to go to the island during the dry season, typically from May to September.

Once you get a good idea of when you plan to go to Bali, you can then look up the activities you can do or places you can visit. This step is not intended for creating an itinerary, but it allows you to determine how long you will be on the island.

Before you can book a plane ticket, you would have to know when you plan to fly and return, so doing preliminary research or some decision-making will be extremely useful.

Passport and Visa

Months before your scheduled trip, you have to prepare the necessary travel documents. Check if your passport is still valid for at least six months after your departure to ensure you do not run into any issues during your travel.

Similarly, check if your country of residence requires a visa going to Indonesia or not. Getting a visa may also take some time, so you have to make sure you have ample time to prepare these documents.

Accommodations

After booking your plane ticket, one of the first things you will likely be planning for is where you will be staying. There are several amazing Bali villas that you can find, primarily since Bali is known for its beautiful beaches. If you’re travelling during the peak season, settle your lodging immediately since slots may sell out very quickly. Nearly 5 million people visit Bali annually, so you can only imagine how many people would be looking to find a place to stay!

Itinerary

Once you have the essential and non-negotiable preparations, such as a plane ticket, visa, and accommodation finalised, you can then proceed to draft an itinerary. Creating one is a matter of choice, so if you prefer having a spontaneous trip, you can opt not to do this.

However, regardless of whether you plan to abide by a schedule strictly or not, it will help to note important information you will need for travelling.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bali, then it will help to look up travel guides to see the places that you can visit or the food and activities you can try. Writing down directions to get to each of those places will also be helpful to avoid getting lost. Look up the possible modes of transportation and try to map out the best combination of places to visit each day so that you can maximise your travel time.
